Collection: Flutes and others

The recorder is a straight woodwind instrument, older than the transverse flute, and is often used in Baroque, Medieval, and Renaissance repertoires. Made of wood or plastic, it produces a softer, warmer sound than the transverse flute, although it is simpler in terms of mechanism. Its "beak"-shaped mouthpiece facilitates sound emission, making it an instrument accessible to beginners, but also very popular with experienced musicians for performances of early music.

The recorder comes in several sizes, from soprano to bass, and remains a popular choice in early music ensembles and music education for its simplicity and distinctive timbre.
